Shri.Ramesh Ramakrishnan
Associate Professor & HOD
Shri. Ramesh Ramakrishnan , Associate Professor, Audiography is a mathematics graduate from M.G University Kottayam, Kerala and he completed the 3 year Sound Recording & Sound Engineering course from the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) Poona in 1994.
After passing out from FTII Ramesh served as a Recording Engineer at the studios of The Gramophone Company of India Ltd (HMV), Kolkatta from June 1995 to Sept 1996. He did sound recording of various programmes for their radio channel HMV –FM. Subsequently he joined the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) Trivandrum un November 1996 and served as a Sound Recordist cum Video Editor for 8 years. During his stint at C-DIT he did sound recordng and video editing for a variety of programmes produced by various government departments, namely documentaries, short films, advertisement films, educational programmes etc. Aprat from this Ramesh has also trained students of the post-graduate diploma course in Audio-Visual production conducted by C-DIT.
Following his stint with C-DIT Ramesh joined Amrita Television ( a satellite channel) based in Trivandrum in May 2004 and worked as a Senior Sound Recordist in both the entertainment and news divisions of the channel. Alongside his assignment at Amrita Television, Ramesh also served as guest faculty at the St Joseph’s College of Communication, Changanassery ( M.G University) and also at the Amrita Scool of Arts & Science (Amrita Viswa Vidyapeeth) Kochi having trained students of multimedia and broadcast journalism.
Following a 13 year stint at Amrita Television Ramesh joined the K R Narayanan Film Institute in July 2017 initially as Assistant Professor in the Audiography department and later as Associate Professor, Audiography.
Ramesh is also into delivering voice overs in English.
